Omega 3 FAQs
Thanks for buying our omega 3! I just wanted to take this opportunity to go over 3 questions with you that we get asked frequently. They are great questions we want all our customers to understand, that will really help everyone get the maximum physical and mental benefits available from omega 3 supplementation.
They are:
1) When is the best time to take omega 3?
We don’t recommend a specific time, however we do recommend that you take omega 3 with food, because it allows the omega 3 fatty acids to be more completely absorbed. This is because the fat in a meal stimulates the pancreatic lipase enzymes. The more enzyme activity, the more completely the omega 3 triglycerides are broken down and then absorbed in the small intestine.
Studies have shown taking omega 3 with a meal can increase absorption rates by 300% – 400%.
2) Where is the best place to store your omega 3?
We recommend storing your omega 3 in a cool dry place, the refrigerator is perfect. Although we specifically use black bottles to ensure that light cannot get to the fish oil, we do also recommend keeping the omega 3 out of direct sunlight.
3) How long should I take omega 3 for?
Omega 3 is needed continually needed for optimal health, so we always need to have high quality sources of omega 3 either through supplements or our diet. However, the studies show that it takes at least 6 weeks for the EPA omega 3 fatty acids to fully integrate themselves into our cell membranes, and may take up to 10 – 12 weeks for DHA to fully integrate, so any supplementation regime should last at least this long.
